European Street Racing is a simulation-style street racing computer game. In this game, the player takes their car to the streets of seven famous European cities: London, Paris, Hamburg, Madrid, Berlin, Warsaw, and Moscow. The game features twelve customizable super cars that can be modified with in-game money as the player wins races and progresses through the game.

The single player career mode has the player racing for money against computer-controlled opponents. The money can be used for modifying cars or buying new ones. The racing environment features destructible elements and obstacles to add some exciting challenges to the high-speed racing. Moreover, the tracks can be raced in day or night mode. The player can tune each car to emphasize different qualities. The graphics are not bad considering the age of the game. In addition to the career mode, there are Internet and LAN options for multiplayer racing against humans.

However, due to the age of the game, the servers for Internet play are no longer available. The game is seven years old. It does not have official support any longer. This puts a damper on the multiplayer. Offline single player will be hard to play as well, because the game is not compatible with Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8. This makes it pretty hard to even get the game to run. Having it play requires going back to at least Windows XP, and running that operating system is now a security risk due to the lack of official Microsoft support as of this year.

Modern alternatives to European Street Racing will have all the same features without needing XP. The necessity of having an out of date OS makes European Street Racing hard to recommend regardless of its appeal, and playing an old racing game is not with the trouble. Look elsewhere for street racing simulators.
